date:2020-01-06 count:2,664

On December 13, Heart to Heart Foundation Cambodia held an annual conference under the theme of

"Sustainable Vision Center" to present its success stories in the public health sector including project performances

over the past three years and suggestions for activating vision center functions.

At this conference, Over 60 stakeholders or partners participated: director of Ministry of Health in Siem Reap(Kros Sarath),

vice director of the National Program for Eye Health(Prof. Do Seiha), officials from Provincial Health Department,

directors from referral hospitals, nurses at Vision Centers, Self-Govening Committee members, and some local community leaders etc.

Particularly, Heart to Heart Foundation Cambodia officially transferred Sonikum, Angkor Chum,

and Kralanh Vision Centers, which were opened in 2016 and actively operated, to Referral Hospitals.

The annual conference was meaningful as it took time to announce the next year's vision center operation plan,

which has been jointly prepared with the Vision Center Self-Governing Committee, since last September.

In addition, the participants were challenged by the presentation of Iem Sokili, vice director of Ministry of Health in Sihanoukville on the best model cases in running a vision center in the public sector.

The conference was concluded with the speech of Do Seiha,
vice director of the NPEH, for future vision center operations.

Heart to Heart Foundation worked with various stakeholders from 2017-2019

to enhance the eye health system of Siem Reap so that local residents

can use quality eye care services in a timely manner,

and provided eye surgery and treatments to 15,767 local residents.
